The flood that we experienced this time was classed as a 1 in 500 year flood, which came through the clubhouse at roughly shoulder height (1.50m). As we recover from it, we are taking every possible step to mitigate future risk of flood. Our Canteen is being refurbished with stainless steel benches rather than the cupboards and benchtop that you would normally find in a home. As we replace damaged athletic equipment we are looking at waterproof storage options and anything that can be stored high up will be. We don’t want the amazing generosity of companies such as yours to be put at risk without due care in the future.”
